A plane charter service takes a couple of passengers to... well... they end up in a life raft being pursued by a couple sharks. Both the people and the sharks did not behave like intelligent people or normal sharks making this quite unrealistic. Between the lame attacks we have these periods of filler material including finger pointing, self reflection, and sentimental, "It's not your fault" moments. He's scared of water. She's pregnant. The History of Sound: The Casablanca of the 21st Century
"The History of Sound" is an incredibly powerful love story, I'm calling it the "Casablanca" of the 21st century. That's not hyperbole. Like Bogart's immortal line: "If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life." Oliver Hermanus's film understands the weight of choices made and paths not taken. Both these love films stay with you long after the credits roll, their emotional resonance deepening with time.

This has got be Oscar Isaac at his best yet, depicting the obsessive scientist hell-bent on proving that he could use science to defeat death itself. Following the murder of two young girls who refused to give their killer oral sex, the authorities decide that this is a reasonable excuse to clamp down on cottaging in the gents toilets of a mall.
