Director Djamel Kelfaoui honors Cheb Hasni, the celebrated singer known as the king of sentimental raï music, who achieved iconic status in Algeria and internationally before his murder in Oran in September 1994 at the age of 26. This unique, final interview was filmed just months before his assassination. Cheb Hasni recorded over 150 cassettes throughout his career, earning him the title "king of raï love" or "sentimental song." His legacy endures powerfully in the Maghreb, the Arab world, and among the diaspora worldwide. A transgenerational icon, he will be awarded the National Merit medal posthumously at the rank of Achir.
