Description:
In November 1954, Algeria's National Liberation Front ignited a war for independence from France, which had controlled the country since 1830. France quickly increased its military presence to stop the uprising. Young Chaoui, raised in the mountains, experiences his peaceful life shattered by an incomprehensible conflict. Inspired by true stories and using archival footage from the French army, the film blends images and words to honor the forgotten memories within those archives and give voice to the people who were ignored.
