Before bands like 108, Inside Out, or Quicksand, there was Beyond. In 1988, Tom Capone and Kevin Egan brought their seven-song demo from Holbrook, NY, to Some Records in Manhattan, launching their career. *What Awaits Us: A Beyond Story* documents the history of the New York hardcore band Beyond, from their beginnings and experiences to their eventual breakup after recording what became an influential album. The film also follows Egan's journey from New York to California as he reflects on Beyond's impact on his life. It features interviews with Beyond members, as well as those from Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Judge, Burn, Bold, and other bands.
