Description:

This film explores a life lived intensely, sparked by the ideas of Frantz Fanon, a psychiatrist of West Indian descent who examined the alienation of Black people. It portrays a man of deep thought and passionate action, dedicated to the liberation struggle of the Algerian people. Through his political involvement, his fight, and his writings, he became a key figure in the anti-colonial movement. He died of leukemia at 36 on December 6, 1961. Chadli Bendjedid, who later became Algeria's president, buried him in Algeria at the Chouhadas cemetery (cemetery of war martyrs), along with three of his major works: "Black Skin, White Masks," "The Fifth Year of the Algerian Revolution," and "The Wretched of the Earth."
