Description:
Recorded at the Muziektheater in Amsterdam on January 21st and 25th, 2008, this production by De Nederlandse Opera features Jean-Philippe Rameau's celebrated tragedy, "Castor et Pollux." The opera recounts the mythical tale of two brothers: Castor, a mortal man, and Pollux, an immortal. When Castor dies saving the woman he loves, Pollux chooses to become mortal himself, taking his brother's place in the afterlife. Starring Finnur Bjarnason, Henk Neven, and Anna Maria Panzarella.
