Description:
Ten years after the King's assassination, the Queen, a recluse, spends the night at Krantz Castle. There, she encounters Stanislas, a young anarchist poet who intends to kill her. He’s wounded and strikingly resembles the dead King, and instead of turning him in, the Queen hides him. She sees him as a symbol of her own grief, calling him Azraël. An unusual bond forms between them as they navigate the schemes of the court, led by the chief of police, Comte de Foëhn, and the Queen's companion, Édith de Berg. To stay true to themselves and to each other, the Queen and Stanislas are forced into a strange, personal tragedy that defies explanation.
