Description:

Spring 1950 marked a pivotal moment in Turkey's history with the transition to a multi-party system. A new decade, a new government, and the first real test of democracy had begun. The former leader of the single-party era had returned to his residence. The opposition's path to power was now clear. Power was initially shared by a three-way alliance: the DP Group in Parliament, Celal Bayar in the Presidential Mansion, and Adnan Menderes as Prime Minister.
