Mighty Orbots is a unique series born from a collaboration between American and Japanese creators, produced by TMS Entertainment and Intermedia Entertainment, with MGM/UA Television. The show was directed by Osamu Dezaki, with character designs by Akio Sugino. First broadcast in the U.S. on September 8th, 1984, it ran as a Saturday morning favorite until December 15th of that year, consisting of just 13 episodes. Shortly after its debut in America, Mighty Orbots was also shown in Japan on Animax. Despite its short run, this animated series has had a lasting impact on the super robot genre, blending cultural influences with distinctive art.
