Our intro has our initial character off to a rough start, and I'm excited to be shown the back story or memories that brought on the scene shown. I knew I had to watch when I caught a glimpse of Tamlyn Tomita, as she can really pull off deeply emotional content, and then we have Julia Nickson in the cast, as well as Amy Hill.
Such Horrendous Trauma our character has survived, and it looks like it was an ongoing issue for her. Things have turned out crazier than I expected them to from the earlier scenes, and something beyond reason is showing its ugly hands.

Missed Opportunity Horror...
Our intro feels nostalgic, with the Muse of young friends in the moment doing what makes for a fun adventure. Like many youths out there, adventures can often lead to mysteries and possibly even lead into trouble, or characters are having that moment.
Strangeness is creeping into our young characters' adventure, and it's actually quite traumatic at their age, heck most ages. This was shot in the spring of 2013, but not released until January, 2016, which shows that it sat on the shelf for a while. There were other production issues during the first year of conception in 2012, such as cast & crew changes. The original director walked off a day before shooting was scheduled after a three-day standoff with the key producer. I suppose we should be happy that someone cared enough to even give it a final edit and release.

With Earth now just about uninhabitable, the “Aniara” - a vast liner-like spacecraft - is heading to Mars when it suffers a technical malfunction at the hands of some space junk. It can only survive if it jettisons all it’s fuel and so is now rendered incapable of propulsion. I enjoyed the 70s grainy cinematography and the clarity only when needed. The group feels forced together and kind of silly, for a not silly film. It's actually getting really cheesy, or maybe interesting, finally.
Our character, who hasn't quite fit the group since the intro, is finally starting to feel more comfortable in her role. Things are finally beginning to happen, and it's kinda fun, honestly. I thought the phonetic of the title suggested something altogether more risqué, instead of this collection of sketches of the real town of the same name. It’s in Texas and these drawings, as well as some snippets of commentaries from it's residents, present us with an eclectic mix of it’s citizenry, structures, it’s singularly unique “festival” - and then there’s a lemon in there too. "Ghost" manages to successfully cut across a variety of genres, but unfortunately very few of them are used to particularly rewarding effect. The comedy doesn't even manage to raise the occasional chuckle, so there is a necessarily heavy reliance upon the romance. It undoubtedly soothes the heart broken amongst us to believe our loved ones are still dutifully watching over us with tender loving care and this film plays to that desire in people with a lot of help from The Righteous Brothers brilliantly singing the superb "Unchained Melody" on the soundtrack.
