Perhaps I’m just desensitised to sex, and stories about sex, but for the most part the regular sight of a naked Michael Fassbender shagging, showering and/or wanking did nothing for me. Sirens has beautiful cinematography and strong performances, particularly from the likes of Hugh Grant and Tara Fitzgerald. However, its plot is thin and the erotic elements leaned towards soft-core. This is none the more evident than a scene set in church in which Tara Fitzgerald's extremely hairy vagina is clearly visible as she stands totally naked. A compelling pyschological thriller and drama focussing on jealousy and dark undertones surrounding a secluded couple living in the Norweigan countryside. Whilst this film is highly recommended, parents are advised that it contains graphic nudity which comes out of the blue. In a scene set outdoors in nature, a clothed Maria Bonnevie asks a man to undress in front of her. Maria is crouching down and her face is aligned with the top of the man's trousers. I was never a great fan of Randolph Scott or Joel McCrea when they were churning out their standard western fayre, but putting them together here as couple of ageing veterans works really quite well. “Judd” (McCrae) used to be a marshal, but now he’s picking up work when and where he can and his latest job is to escort a gold shipment through some risky territory. The vultures who grabbed the Witcher "franchise" have done it again. Even this strong side story about the Rats, they managed to corrupt. And I'm not talking about "we need to have a PoC everywhere" in which is supposed medieval Poland and surroundings.
