Description:
Gallura, mid-19th century. A long-standing feud between the Vasa and Mamia families erupts into violence. Bastiano Tansu, deaf and mute since birth, is caught in the middle. Having suffered mistreatment his whole life, he joins Pietro Vasa, one of the feud's leaders, after his brother's murder. Bastiano uses his skill with a weapon to become a feared assassin. The authorities and the Church struggle to stop the escalating violence, which results in over 70 deaths before peace is finally achieved. Initially finding solace in a relationship with a pastor's daughter, Bastiano is ultimately forced to confront his predetermined fate in a world that has always condemned him.
