This film celebrates Maria Lai, an artist born in 1919 in Ulassai, Sardinia. Inspired by the rugged Ogliastra landscape, she transforms materials like stone, concrete, and wood into stories drawn from ancient and modern legends. Her work includes individual pieces, installations, and interventions that become part of the landscape itself. The film presents Lai as a voice speaking from beyond conventional boundaries – reality, history, nature, and art. Like a wild olive tree, both timeless and current, she shares countless stories with a natural rhythm, much like she did with simple offerings on her journey to the church in Santa Barbara di Ulassai.
