Description:
In wartime France, Marie Latour, a mother of two facing financial hardship, secretly performs abortions for women. She also rents a room to a friend who works as a prostitute. Her husband, injured in the war, returns home but becomes withdrawn and detached. As Marie's abortion work provides a stable income, she begins an affair with a younger man, seeking connection and release during the difficult years. The film explores survival, relationships, and the challenges of finding fulfillment amidst war.
