In the early 1980s, Rockpile was a successful band celebrated for their lively shows and strong musical relationships. Their performance on the German TV show Rockpalast in January 1980 reflects this energy. The band featured members with established solo careers, including Dave Edmunds, and played a selection of original songs alongside classic rock and roll covers. Primarily drawing from Edmunds' solo work, they performed thirteen tracks that would later appear on his albums. They also included songs by Nick Lowe and highlighted guitarist Billy Bremner’s abilities. The performance showcases the musicians' collaboration and the diverse sound that defined Rockpile.
