Description:
Thirty years ago, I experimented with filmmaking, using a technique that breaks footage into one-second blocks, divides each block into four, rearranges the segments, and then reassembles the film. This reveals how the illusion of motion is created, similar to slowed-down frames, but with an even stronger sense of both movement and stillness, time and timelessness. I've recreated this digitally in this video. The original footage was shot in Cabot Plaza and Canary Wharf, and it’s a visual exploration of color, texture, and pattern, accompanied by the hurdy-gurdy music of Rémy Couvez.
