Description:
Alfredo Anzola's 1979 Venezuelan drama, *Manuel*, centers on love, faith, and resistance. The film follows Aparicio and his wife, Alma Rosa, as they welcome a new priest, Manuel, to their coastal village. As Manuel gets to know the community, he learns the village is planned for demolition to build a tourist resort. Moved by the villagers' situation, Manuel joins the local fishermen in fighting to protect their land. He develops feelings for Alma Rosa, creating personal and moral conflicts.
