Pok Tin Leung, a former police officer now working as a taxi driver, helps two nightclub hostesses, Lily and Annie, escape unwanted attention. The following morning, their boss, Fanny Lin, is found dead. Annie's boyfriend, Shaun, a bartender, flees when questioned by police. Lee, a gangster Pok previously arrested, was dating Fanny, but is seen with another woman the next day. Detective Darwin, the lead investigator, seeks Pok's assistance, as they were former colleagues. Unbeknownst to Pok, Darwin is secretly friends with Lily. The circumstances of how Lily began working for Fanny are also a compelling part of the story.
