Description:
For five hundred years, the Roma people in Sweden have faced discrimination and persecution. A lack of understanding and denial of their history of abuse contribute to their ongoing marginalization. This film features Roma individuals recounting the abuses and persecutions they endured in the 20th century. They describe the trauma of being forcibly removed from camps, often at night, amidst violence and gunfire. Soraya Post shares her mother's story: a pregnant 23-year-old was forced to have an abortion in the seventh month simply because she was considered a "gypsy."
