This documentary offers a close look at Gypsy refugees in a Belgrade suburb who repurpose classic Citroen 2CV and Dyana cars into unique recycling vehicles. They collect cardboard, bottles, and scrap metal with these modified cars, a more efficient method than traditional cart-pushing. The vehicles represent freedom, hope, and personal style for the owners. They even use car batteries for electricity to power lights, TVs, and mobile phone charging. It's a remarkable transformation, almost like alchemy. However, the police aren't always pleased with these unusual vehicles. "Pretty Dyana is both funny and deeply sad. The film avoids dwelling solely on the hardship these people face, creating a complex emotional experience where laughter and tears intertwine," says Sara Hultman of the Goteborg Film Festival.
