Description:
Atsushi Sakahara, who survived the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attack, joins Hiroshi Araki, an executive with the now-defunct cult Aleph (formerly Aum Shinrikyo), on a journey to visit their shared past: their hometowns and university. As they travel, they talk, gradually forming a bond. The conversations reveal Araki’s reasons for joining the cult led by Shoko Asahara and his continued membership despite not directly participating in the attacks. The trip becomes a search for understanding – a chance at redemption, or perhaps a realization that they are destined to follow separate paths.
