Description:
Pasquale Donatone, known as Tony, is a taxi driver who navigates between the promise of America and the disappointment of Italy. Tony is an undocumented immigrant, having left Italy as a child forty years ago and built a life in America, though not without errors. His biggest mistake was choosing deportation over a ten-year prison sentence for smuggling illegal immigrants and drugs. Now deported to a small town in Southern Italy, he faces a decade-long wait before he can legally return to the US. The wait proves unbearable, as Italy offers little hope. He can't endure it any longer. This is a story of immigration, drugs, love, and the search for belonging in a country that fundamentally changes you: the United States of America.
