In 1995, 300 lesbians from across the globe gathered for the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. Two buses of women heading to an underground nightclub inadvertently helped launch a lesbian and LGBTQ+ movement in China. At the conference, the first lesbian tent was established at an UN NGO Forum, providing a space for Chinese lesbians to find community and begin a journey toward self-acceptance and empowerment. The film follows these early pioneers to the present day, showcasing how today's young feminists are continuing their fight against sexism and homophobia with bold public activism, mirroring the spirit of defiance and determination of those who came before them two decades earlier.
