Description:
The devastating Sichuan earthquake struck at 2:28 PM on May 12, 2008. In the aftermath, survivors scavenge for salvageable materials amidst the ruins, while families desperately search for lost loved ones, hidden from the official attention. As the Lunar New Year nears, rumors spread of corruption in the rebuilding efforts and misuse of aid. Ahead of a visit from a government official, the displaced people are forcibly relocated to overcrowded tent cities. The hope of shelter before winter dwindles with each passing day.
