The Subversion Agency (2003)

Filmed in Miami, Florida and Havana, Cuba over nine years, *The Subversion Agency* follows an American arms dealer, Pierre Kozlov, who is invited to the K-Zone – a communist nation in the Caribbean – for a high-stakes golf match. The winner receives one million dollars; the loser faces a grim fate. Kozlov, a nihilist, becomes entangled in international politics as he learns more about the potential consequences of losing. The film uses experimental editing techniques and political satire alongside archival footage of Miami and Cuba to create a surreal, Twilight Zone-like atmosphere.
