Description:
In 1974, four astronauts – Dorothy, known for her silver shoes; Doc, who is overweight; Charlie, the goofy one; and Steve, who seems stiff – crash land on Mars during a survey mission, with only four days' worth of supplies. Stranded on a desolate planet dotted with canals filled with giant, finned maggots, they struggle to survive. After exploring a golden cavern and weathering a storm, they discover an abandoned Earth vessel and then find a golden road leading to the preserved ruins of a once-grand Martian city. The Martians, resembling the Flatheads from *The Wizard of Oz*, are governed by a collective consciousness called the "Wizard," which prevents them from leaving until the astronauts complete a seemingly insignificant task.
