Armed Resistance (2009)

In August 1945, the United States dropped a uranium-based atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan – the only nation with nuclear weapons at the time. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union frantically tried to advance its own atomic program, but lacked a crucial resource: uranium. By early 1946, extensive geological expeditions were launched across the USSR to find it. The film follows a geologist on one of these expeditions, whose life takes an unexpected turn after the death of a friend.
