Description:
Cam Calloway and his family live in a heavily wooded part of New England. Cam hopes to create a sanctuary for the geese that migrate through each year, and he attempts various plans to purchase a nearby lake for this purpose. His efforts are repeatedly blocked. He and his son try to earn money trapping furs, but the fur market collapses. Using the meager funds they acquire, Cam puts down a deposit on the lake, leading to them losing their home due to an unpaid mortgage. They relocate to the lake, where friends help them construct a cabin. A traveling salesman arrives and tries to persuade locals to sell their land for a tourist development. Outraged by his methods, Cam takes drastic action after being personally deceived.
