Description:
At the start of a new millennium, the U.N. proposes the first Prisoner's World Cup, promoting ideals of freedom, equality, and harmony. Prison officials in Korea struggle with the decision of whether to allow their inmates to compete. The Hope Team, comprised of 75 inmates with an average of six convictions each, is an unlikely contender. Offered parole and reduced sentences, they are fiercely motivated. Using their diverse criminal skills, they navigate prejudice and corruption – including two members bribed by the opposing team – to reach the finals. However, when their leader, the only one facing a death sentence, escapes from prison, the team faces turmoil and rediscovers the meaning of hope.
