Description:
In this poetic fantasy, a newly arrived soul struggles to piece together a lost past while confronting a dark reflection on personal atonement against the backdrop of Kenya’s violent history. Kaleche (Nyokabi Gethaiga) awakens in a desolate landscape, stripped of all memory – unsure of where she is, who she is, or how she got there. A group of strangers welcomes her to a nearby oasis and reveals the truth: she is dead, and this is the afterlife. This is the beginning of writer-director Mbithi Masya's haunting debut feature, Kati Kati.
