Description:
What begins as an ordinary online romance between two strangers takes a startling turn into international intrigue. For months, Sandra in Montreal and Amina, a Syrian-American, develop a deep emotional and intellectual connection. Encouraged by Sandra, Amina starts a blog called "A Gay Girl in Damascus," giving voice to marginalized perspectives on politics, religion, and sexuality in the Middle East. The blog quickly gains global attention, making Amina a prominent figure. However, when the Arab Spring erupts in Syria in 2011, Sandra learns that Amina has been kidnapped, launching a worldwide search and a complex mystery.
