Description:
For Isaac Oppenheim's 90th birthday, four generations of the Oppenheim family reunite in Paris. Isaac, known as "Romeo," is awaiting a response to a marriage proposal, having threatened self-destruction if rejected. The family gathers at his grandson Ben's home, where Ben lives with Peggy and their 10-year-old son Mathias. Isaac's son Elie joins them from Israel. Amidst Elie’s attempts to reconnect with his ex-wife, Ben and Peggy's marital problems, Mathias's emerging awareness of his own sexuality, shared games of chess and playful pranks, the precarious state of Ben's house, and the historical challenges faced by Jewish people in the 20th century, the film examines their relationships and Isaac's life as he ages.
