Description:
In 1866, a gold rush and a confusing peace talk push the U.S. Army to construct a road and fort on land previously given to the Sioux. Frontier scout Jim Bridger, whose Cheyenne wife gives him insight into both cultures, strongly opposes this. The area is tense and ready to explode into war, and prejudiced officers like Lieutenant Rob Dancy could easily ignite it. Bridger's efforts to avert disaster are complicated by difficult personal issues. Historically accurate.
