Description:
In 1763, Britain won the global Seven Years War, known in the American Colonies as the French and Indian War. France's withdrawal from America left Native Americans who had allied with them fearing British retaliation. Ottawa Chief Pontiac persuaded many tribes to attack first. Some joined willingly, others were compelled to fight, targeting Fort Pitt. Both sides used unusual and often brutal methods. Colonel Henry Bouquet led a diverse force of British soldiers, Scottish Highlanders, and American volunteers to protect the hundreds of men, women, and children at risk in Fort Pitt. The little-known Battle of Bushy Run dramatically altered the course of history. This is that story.
