Description:
The story of the 47 Ronin has been retold many times, but this version features a star-studded cast and presents the most complete account yet. It begins with the corruption of Lord Kira and Yanagi-sawa, the Shogun's secretary, which ultimately led to the attack on Lord Asano in the Palace's Pine Corridor. Asano Takumi no kami was a principled young lord who opposed the widespread bribery in the capital. His refusal to participate angered Kira, who retaliated with insults and deceit. A man of honor, Asano was forced to draw his sword. Forty-seven masterless samurai then pledge to avenge their lord, even if it costs them their lives.
