Description:

Built as a lavish retreat by Henry VIII, Hampton Court was the setting for grand royal events, most notably the christening of his long-awaited son, Prince Edward, on October 15th, 1537. Lucy and David examine how Tudor art, architecture, and custom combined for this pivotal event. Using historical documents and expert assistance, they reconstruct key aspects of the christening ceremony, including a large procession with nearly 100 people in full Tudor attire moving through Hampton Court.
