Description:
King Henry II confines his wife, Eleanor, to the towers to prevent her from challenging his authority, allowing him to pursue relationships with a younger woman. Despite this, Eleanor secretly plots against him, hoping to secure the throne for her preferred son, Richard. Her youngest son, John, is considered inept, while the king favors his surviving son, Henry. However, John is ambitious and joins forces with his brother Geoffrey and the King of France to orchestrate his father's downfall. Geoffrey, recognizing John’s weakness, sees this alliance as his own opportunity for power, setting off a chain of political schemes within the court.
