Description:
Ester (16) lives a sheltered life in a small island town with her religious parents. During Sunday school, she meets Ragna, a newcomer who has moved with her mother, an alcoholic, and her 8-year-old brother. Ester feels like Ragna is everything she's ever wanted. Unbeknownst to each other, Ragna and Ester see the same qualities in one another, particularly in Ester’s father. Drawn together by their shared feelings, they become close friends and dream of escaping their monotonous island life, only to discover they want to escape from themselves.
