Description:

In early 1900s Polynesia, young missionary Monsieur Fortune arrives on a remote island, full of faith and eager to convert the islanders. He's met with resistance, not hostility, but through the natives' open acceptance, their traditions, and their beliefs. As Fortune tries to impose his faith, he begins to question his own assumptions about the people he once considered "primitive." He witnesses their sophisticated way of life and deep connection to the natural world, causing him to doubt his preconceived notions.
