Twenty years later, mistakenly believed to be 70, she was forced to retire. Eager to continue performing, she returned to singing and enjoyed a celebrated comeback. She was actually 82 years old! MY CASTLE'S ROCKIN' chronicles Alberta's remarkable career throughout the 20th century, featuring her best live performances from New York's renowned downtown club, The Cookery. Ms. Hunter shared her personal archives with the producer, offering previously unseen photos and mementos from her celebrated life. The film includes Alberta Hunter's final interview before her death in 1984, along with interviews from her manager Barney Josephson, record producer John Hammond, and others.
