Robin, an African-American social worker in Oakland, risks her job by becoming too involved with her clients. She develops a relationship with Brooklyn, a White Frenchwoman who is a thief with aspirations of opening a motorcycle repair shop. Robin becomes willing to be with Brooklyn and participate in her robberies, seeing it as a way to fund community projects. She operates as an anonymous benefactor. However, when their personal lives become complicated, Brooklyn's jealousy grows. Can they find resolution amidst issues of love, family, money, and violence?
