As autumn arrives, bringing falling leaves and rain, the Giro di Lombardia, cycling's toughest classic, takes place. This century-old race, known as the "classic of the falling leaves," is the season's grand finale, featuring winding roads and steep climbs up to 14%. Legendary cyclists like Coppi, Bartali, Merckx, Hinault, and Kelly have all won. The 1962 race was particularly challenging, won by Dutchman Jo de Roo. Every year, Dutch cyclists compete, hoping for victory in this historic event. From 2006 to 2010, Dutch director Johannes Sigmond and producer Robert Jan van Noort filmed the race, interviewing Dutch participants to capture the essence of this legendary Italian cycling tradition.
