In 1928, an inexperienced team from New Zealand and Australia entered the Tour de France, widely regarded as the world's most challenging cycling race. Their attempt, racing with only four riders against teams of ten, was largely dismissed as a joke, with one journalist even calling it reckless. Out of 168 riders who began the over 3,500-mile race, only 41 finished. This remarkable story of their bravery and accomplishment has never before been told on film. Television personality Phil Keoghan, an adventurer and cycling enthusiast, retraces the 1928 Tour de France route, recreating history. Riding a vintage bike and following the original course and schedule, Phil and his team will average 150 miles a day over 22 stages.
