Description:
Worldwide, over 350,000 tons of highly radioactive waste, including spent fuel rods, are currently in temporary storage at nuclear power plants and storage facilities. An additional 10,000 tons are added annually – waste that demands secure long-term storage for hundreds of thousands of years, isolated from humanity and life. The central question is: where can it be safely stored? Director Edgar Hagen joins Swiss-British nuclear physicist Charles McCombie, who has dedicated 35 years to finding a solution, to explore the complexities of this critical global issue. As nuclear energy advocates and opponents clash, deeply held beliefs are challenged by uncertainty.
