Description:
Veronika, a young woman diagnosed with schizophrenia, is easily manipulated due to her compliant nature. Deeply religious and convinced she is divinely favored, she seeks Jesus and has contacted a filmmaker about making a movie about her life. The film depicts her being raped, followed by relationships with men she believes are Jesus, all of whom pressure her for sex. A troubled young man invites her to join a cult. Veronika is repeatedly committed to asylums where she receives medication and restraints. Her wealthy parents are powerless to help. The film questions whether anyone will ever truly understand her, and if such understanding could offer any real relief.
