Description:
In medieval Sweden, Carla (Izabella Scorupco) is a con artist posing as a man. She's selling a miraculous cure called Petri tårar (Tears of St. Peter), promising to revive all citizens who have died in the past decade. This alarms the bishop and mayor, who fear losing control, leading them to actively oppose her. Many townsfolk also dread the prospect of the dead returning. Adding to the complications, Carla and the mayor's son, Mark, develop a romantic connection.
