Description:
Cinder's world changes forever when her father returns from a business trip with a new wife and two daughters, shortly before his death. Left largely to fend for herself, she navigates a difficult life under the control of her stepmother, who drains her father's estate. Finding solace in her friendship with Justin, a job at the library with Lenore, and a crush on Cash, the lawn caretaker, Cinder waits for her 21st birthday and the inheritance of her father's trust fund. After taking a clay doll of the voodoo god Baron Samedi from Justin, the god appears to help her achieve her desires, including a romantic encounter with Cash. Unbeknownst to Cinder, Cash and her stepmother are plotting to eliminate her and claim the inheritance. However, Baron Samedi intends to orchestrate Cinder's revenge.
