Description:
Following World War II, Commissar Moldovan endured years as a political prisoner under the communist regime. The Russian Colonel overseeing the prison frequently forced inmates to play Russian Roulette. Moldovan survived his imprisonment only through sheer luck and resilience. After his release, the former police officer enters an underground international Russian Roulette gambling network. In the late 1970s, a spiritual awakening leads him to a Central European town where Goldberg, an old acquaintance, is running a modified version of the game involving direct shooting between opponents. Moldovan encounters a series of familiar figures, both allies and adversaries, suggesting that much of the Bucharest underworld from the 1940s has gathered there.
