Description:
Gary, a perpetually unlucky businessman, relocates to Beijing's trendy Sanlitun district with the stated goal of starting a business. He also followed his ex-wife and son. However, he quickly discovers that China presents unforeseen challenges. Oblivious to his own shortcomings and often out of touch with reality, Gary attempts to succeed financially, relying on misplaced confidence and a lack of understanding of Chinese culture. He encounters Frank, an Australian trust-fund beneficiary who offers to guide him in Eastern ways. Frank’s guidance primarily involves criticizing Gary for his Westernness and perceived lack of "Chinese" qualities.
