For three decades, the CIA's involvement in the Vietnam War has been shrouded in speculation. This film reveals the truth about the agency's largest secret operation: the Secret War in Laos, conducted alongside the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1973. While the world focused on Vietnam, the CIA constructed the world’s busiest military airport in neutral Laos and recruited aid workers, special forces, and pilots for a counterinsurgency campaign. Initially intended as a low-key, cost-effective effort to prevent Laos from falling to communism, the operation escalated into a massive air war aimed at disrupting the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Each year, the United States dropped the equivalent of 2 million tons of conventional bombs on Laos.
